OKAY IT'S BEEN A WHILE. class reg started and aside from my math class, i'm basically completely done with it. math requires a placement test before i register and i'm waiting for my brother to visit to practice with him first (math isn't exactly my favorite subject, and my brother's an engineer so it's like his baby. he's like. the main reason i even passed the math GED)
the placement test for bio was yesterday and despite somehow doing worse on each practice test i took, i passed in a quarter of the time it gave me, so now i can take that anatomy class i'm so jazzed about
in other, less important-to-my-education news:
- started a minecraft server in the same vein as the canon handle memos (mentioned here). so far it's been fucking hilarious, i might make a ramble about it just to share screenshots and talk about it (update: did it)
- new dice!
- the ipod came in! i've already set it up and everything, and finally deleted spotify off my phone since my abject hatred for it is the entire reason i got an ipod at all. so far it's already got all my music, some of the magnus archives, and i figured out how to make playlists with rockbox
- broke my artblock because of shenanigans on said minecraft server serving as an ever-rare form of inspiration
- gave up on that one scholarship and decided to wait to get documentation for a different one. it just didn't feel worth it if thinking of even a LIE was that frustrating

so 4/13 went really well! because i run a small and tight-knit homestuck server, we decided to make a day of it and see if we could fit in a bunch of homestuck-related activities. because of some time fuckiness, it ended up being a lot of the genesis project, a little minecraft, and watching con air because john egbert.
tgp went surprisingly well! it's a small fangame that is pretty buggy so we only ever made it to the lich queen twice, but we were able to get mostly functional large sessions going (max lobby is 12 people, these were groups of 7-9. it's notoriously glitchy in large groups), which is wonderful! i can't wait for the next update
con air also wasn't that bad, just not something i'd watch again. alright ironic watch though
in other news, reading the results of the homestuck census was pretty interesting, and i decided to graph all the homestuck-related identifying roles to see how closely my server aligned with the actual results. it was 2/3 for blood caste and class, only 1 for aspect, and pretty spot on for dream moon ratio.

other than that, life's been pretty mundane. started easter prep with my mom (we still do egg hunts, but they're significantly harder to adjust for the fact that we're older now. like i literally found one in my room from last year while grabbing clothes yesterday) and somehow, despite my mom's time blindness that i also inherited, we made REALLY good time on the walmart trip, made some fried rice, tried a new hair thing, also dyed it and probably accidentally discovered a new allergy AGAIN (idk how i keep doing this. this is like the fourth time. head in hands.), played some l4d2 for the first time in a while, yknow. stuff.
will probably update later when bröther is home

HOLY SHIT BANKRUPTCY SALES ARE AMAZING.
my mom and i were originally just gonna visit a salvation army and a costco for that prep trip (i prefer thrifting my stuff, plus dvds are 99¢ a pop so that's building the collection for cheap) and we ended up passing a joann's, so we decided to pop in and see what we could find. and the deals were so good that we decided to wake up early and visit a different joann's just to find more shit
the full haul includes:
- two different drawing pads (one being mixed-media and both being very nice. i'm taking a drawing class this fall and wanna be prepared
- 2 yards of fake suede that was almost an EXACT color match to the doom hood color. i am MAKING THE HEIR HOOD BAYBEE
- quilting ruler
- a nice clasp and some buttons (the clasp because i have some leftover costume satin and velvet i wanna do stuff with, and the buttons for a pair of jeans i thrifted for my sister and had to repair)
- those little eyelet pins for jewelry. ran out
- some little pens for less than a dollar
- chalk pastels that technically counted as fixtures
- extra canvases
- some brush pens that were really nice
- brick of fimo polymer clay
- a wide headband for fantroll horns i made AGES ago (i got one of those cheap ass thin ones originally, but there isn't enough surface area to anchor them properly so i had to get something wider)
- quilting pins with a little pincushion on top
- bias tape (for the heir hood)
- wire cutters (i use old wire hangers for armature and my usual pliers are pretty shit for cutting them. also was a fixture but this one makes sense
- a roll of foam (unfinished sword. needed a softer material for the hilt)
- two pairs of actual low-rise from the 2000s, one from guess and one from amethyst (and a pair of mens' jeans so wtv)
- said jeans i got for my sister. they seemed like her thing and the buttons were broken but like. nothin like having a brother who knows how to mend clothes
- a TON of dvds. the devil wears prada, 2/3 austin powers movies, the dark knight (the good one with heath ledger as the joker. my mom loves christian bale in it), i even found a wii game in there
- this little scheduling/contact book thing my mom got. i'm either going to paint a snoopy onto it for her or print out jensen ackles as dean winchester being possessed by michael to make into a sticker. 50/50 chance for either.
- offbrand snuggie (brother was gifted one by an ex-roommate and i was SO jealous)
- hot topic shoes that were both in my size AND were seemingly never worn, like the sticker was still on the bottom and everything. should my converse ever give out i know what my alternatives are.
i love thrift stores because you could either find the coolest or the ugliest shit. case in point:

anyways i shall update again when the holiday weekend is Over

we did not have my brother for very long (adult shit, he's graduating from college in a couple weeks and has to deal with the moving-out process, plus the absolute SHITHOLE that is the current job market) but we did get some fun stuff in!
the morning was spent like usual, breakfast then running around the house like madmen to see how weird the spots got this year, then painting eggs. at the joann's sale my mom and i found these cute little 3x3 magnetic canvases and figured it'd be a fun activity for the morning, and it was (i went the hardest and took the longest, as usual. the curse of being the artist kid). i've made it a sort of tradition to paint homestuck characters every year, and this time i decided to do john (again) and vriska, who i tried to do last year but i ran out of time to finish her. since this is the last easter before my brother makes the full transition into adult life my mom wanted them to last, so they're the ping pong ball material ones (thanks bankruptcy sales). which means vriska is going to reappear in our house every year.
like last year, we decided to do an escape room and grab some thai, so that went fairly fast, but it was still fun. this one was pirate themed and unlike last year, we actually got out with 15 minutes to spare! thai was great as usual, we found our usual place by accident last year and now the staff all know us. it's so fucking good dude thai food is the best
my brother got an egg inside my guitar. and apparently dropped it a bunch trying to just gently set it down so it was perfectly balanced and visible in the hole. AND GUESS WHO KNOCKED IT DOWN
anyways tldr: easter was good
